Summer-Loving Engagement Session | Ashley + Josh

Wow!  Where do I even start?!  I mean did you see those images?  Ashley and Josh are completely adorable and the best thing? Their in LOVE!  This stylized engagement session was so much fun planning!   I came up with this summer concept that fit Ashley and Josh’s personalities to the “T”.  Their both fun, active, and outdoor beach babes!  These two met over three years ago through mutual friends who secretly set them up!  Good thing they did, because these two are absolutely perfect for one another.  After they met it was all history and now wedding bells are ringing!

I teamed up with Lauren Soley from Love Good Weddings, who provided a few props for this shoot.  She brought the flock of flamingos, the gold record side table, the drink suspensor, the vintage quilt, and helped set everything up, including that yummy pink fruit drink!  Plus, her eye for details are amazing!  We shot this super-duper engagement at Palazzo Del Sol, a rental and wedding venue located in Destin, FL.

I really envisioned this shoot to be SUPER fun, a bit retro with a summery vibe that drew you in.  When I think summer, I think crystal clear pools, fun floats, pineapples, and bright colors!  Luckily I came across the ADORABLE “Oh-Joy” picnic products from target and the swan and doughnut float (from amazon)!  They were perfect and really tied everything together.

When I start planning a conceptual shoot for my clients, I ask a few questions to better familiar myself with them, their relationship, and who they are as individuals as well.  Once I understand them and what their style is I come up with a concept that works for them! When planning the shoot my brain instantly thinks of materialistic objects for props that I can incorporate then everything else just falls into place.  For instant, this shoot started with the thought of flamingos and the swan float.  My creativity starts flowing and before you know it everything is styled and coming to life!
