WHERE DO I EVEN START?! If you follow me on Instagram (@hello_miss_lovely) you probably saw I was recently in Barcelona, Spain shooting an elopement. First of all, this was my first time visiting Spain…and oh my beautifulness! Not only did I get to shoot my lovely couple on their most magical day ever, but I had a little spontaneous girl trip as well! Three of my closest friends tagged along and we all met in Barcelona (YAY!)! Now, let me introduce you to the two superstars who choose to elope in a beautiful-adventuurous city…Lexy and Jake.
Lexy and Jake are from the sunny beaches of Florida (just like this Florida girl)! Lexy contacted me about photographing their elopement and I about passed out with excitement! (Seriously). After talking and laughing, tickets were purchased and I was well on my way to BARCELONA! (Hello Sangria, see ya soon!)!
The day before the wedding, my girls, my talented friend (and Lexy’s hair and make-up artist) Kaitlyn, my couple, and their friends (yes you will see TWO grooms…don’t worry its just his twin brother) all met up for a sailboat ride in the mediterranean. It was such a wonderful experience! I will say drinking red wine and going over pretty big swells is quite the task (I think I mastered it)! After we had dinner, drinks, and we may have partied…just a little…totally the brides fault! (love you Lexy!)
The next day was THE DAY! It was an absolute beautiful day to photograph two people in love. We started out at Lexy and Jakes adorable airBnB then caught a cab to Jardins de Mossen Cost i Llobera where the ceremony took place. CAN I PLEASE TELL YOU THIS IS A PARK FULL OF CACTI!! I was in heaven! Succulents, cactus, and all things green surrounded us in all it’s glory!
After, we headed up the street towards Castell de Montjuic. It was GORGEOUS! To get there we had to ride in a cable car, which took us up the mountain (hope your not afraid of heights)! Funny story…the castle wouldn’t let “professional photographers” in (ummm excuse me?!) SO the images you see below from the castle are from my trusty iPhone 7 plus (BOOM-WHAT?!)! Thats right! I secretly was about to have a heart attack, but we totally pulled it off!
Last but not least, we all headed for a delicious dinner at El Xalet de Montjuic. It’s a mediterranean restaurant that over looked the city of Barcelona. It was a perfect ending to a perfect day.
This trip was so refreshing and so inspiring! The other days I was visiting my babes and I explored the streets and visited Sagrada de Famillia and Park Guell. My favorite was our adventure to Lloret de Mar! IT WAS PERFECT! We all hopped on a train, then a curvy bus ride up a mountain, and ended in the stunning streets of Costa Brava. We shopped, ate, drank, and skinny dipped in the mediterranean sea (shhhh…!)
I will never forget this trip, my couple, my friends, and I will forever be grateful they choose me to tell their incredible story.
xx
